Yield: 4 Servings
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 1 Hour
- 3-4 ripe, but firm large Bosc pears (pears are slightly wrinkling around the stem)
- ¼ cup salted butter
- ¼ cup Nate’s Organic 100% Pure Honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
- Fresh thyme, for serving, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a 9”x9” baking pan with parchment.
Slice the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the cores with a melon baller.
In a small pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add honey, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and whisk until the honey has dissolved into the butter.
Add pears to pan, cut side up, alternating their placement so they fit together. Drizzle half of the caramel over the pears, flip pears over and drizzle the other half. Place in oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a knife slides easily through the flesh (more unripe pears may take longer).
Remove pan from oven and let rest for 5 minutes for caramel to thicken.
Serve warm with ice cream, spooning extra caramel from the baking dish over the pears. Sprinkle with fresh thyme, if desired. Enjoy!
